ADIRE CAPE IN CONTRASTING PATTERNS

For the Non-Nigerian readers, adire textile is the indigo-dyed cloth made in south western Nigeria by yoruba women using a variety of resistance dyeing techniques.

If you’re bored with using an ankara fabric, a fabric you could consider is adire.

Sourcing for these two patterns had me in the market twice before I finally saw what I wanted.

I drafted what I wanted and sent to my designer who brought my imagination to reality.

It’s basically a sleeveless dress with the cape jacket worn over.

Again there’s a detachable long tail to give a dreamy feel.

Paired with a black sandal for the minimalist look & went barefoot for the dreamy feel.

I like the pattern mix – stripped and flowery.

I like the color pop- blue and pink

I like the flexibility-

The cape can be paired with another plain dress

I like that the boundaries of modesty wasn’t flouted.

Here’s one textile & style you could consider for your birthday shoot, aso-ebi needs or a Sunday outfit(the minimalist version)

Do you like what you see, do not hesitate to share with another person. Thank you.

For me it’s an absolute yes for photoshoots….and a “maybe”
as a church outfit..I just can’t help imagining someone stepping on long cape in church with a resultant fall face flat🙈

      And yeah, you’re right.
I actually meant the minimalist look(shorter length) isn’t bad for a church service.

  3. Your modesty endeared you to my heart.
