Was hoping to publish one ‘hot’, ‘fireful’, ‘jim-jim’ faith post for the year but after a tussle, here’s what I’m led to share with you which I think will come in handy as we sail through the year.
I know we’re filled with so much hopes, desires, petitions, ambitions & lots of others that come with the beginning of each year which is absolutely necessary, but undoubtedly, for the most part & people, we’d certainly encounter some hurdles while at it.
This then should make us think ahead about what then happens when things are not going as planned.
These are some of the things I noted & would like to share with you.
1)You won’t always feel like it.
This is inevitable & that’s because we’re humans.
You know, no one’s omnipotent or a robot(they don’t even do so much now before there’s a problem).
You won’t always be motivated as you sail through the year.
You won’t always feel like it, but at such moments, we must carefully consider our goals, choices, plans or whatever at all again & be convinced if they’re worth the chase.
This time of consideration would then prompt & give us reasons to continue, explore a different route or better still to stop chasing.
Also know, you won’t be super pumped always; cherish the lil pumps still.
Consistent little pumps are certainly better than one-off passionate pumps.
Awolehin Gloria
That little pump could lead a cascade of motivation you’d need for a while so don’t stifle or disregard it.
Keep hope alive.
2)Take breaks in-between
There’s this idea the world paints that fuels us to keep going in a context that isn’t healthy & you know, that just robs us off the beauty that comes with taking pauses.
Please, take breaks as and when needed.
Have a retreat
Enjoy solitude
Declutter
You will see clearly when you get back
You will learn a better perspective.
You will understand somethings you never thought you would
You will create more space for the positives
And you’d be energized.
For people who do not have the luxury of taking breaks, I hope you don’t get broken in trying to keep up as you sail through the year.
I pray you people that would be a breathe of fresh air.

3) The means to the end is as important as the end.
I know we’ve made plans.
Plans to achieve our goals.
Business goals, leadership goals, family goals.. And many others that I haven’t mentioned.
It’s good, it’s good.
But please, while at it, do not trample on others- let’s understand we are dealing with real, living beings.
Let’s chase our goals carrying along the vision to help others fulfil theirs’
Awolehin Gloria.
Yeah, you could consider the possibility of asking your workers what their goals are.
Create a system that has the interest of everyone at heart; the cleaner, the driver, the sales girl & boy, whosoever comes in mind as you read this.
The number of books you’ve read won’t matter if there’s no corresponding transformation.
It’s not about the number of sales, it’s about how much utility your customers have received which then means you wouldn’t create inferior products just to produce more quantity.
It’s not about the number of people worshiping in your congregation, it’s rather about how much they are living out the life of Christ.
You can still tweak the plans if you feel & see the need to do so.
Take the courage to carry everybody around with it.
The means to every end must be right, humane, graceful & godly.
4) Allow God & His Grace
I certainly wouldn’t have this published without this point here & this pretty much would be the summary.
Proverbs 19:21
We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God’s purpose prevails.
You’d often be tempted to take a route that takes God out of the picture
You could forget godly principles in an instance; Don’t turn deaf ears as soon as you’re reminded.
May God carry you & may you allow Him as you sail through.
May you be reminded of what truly matters in the end: A life of love
Love for the Father
And then, love for his creations.
Cheers to living & loving
Happy New Year
